Wooden Heart Follies!

Auditions for “Wooden Heart Follies”, the Steubenville Nutcracker Village musical, are by appointment this month, the 12th and 13th, from 6-9 pm  The location will be in the lobby of The Grand Theater at 121 S. 4th St Steubenville.  You’ll be asked to read from the script and sing ” My Favorite Things “.
The musical was presented in 2016 and 2017. It brings to life some of the nutcrackers with the music being Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite with comic lyrics added.

The read-thru will be this month on the 21st with Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday rehearsals beginning on the 26th. Performances will be on December 1-4 once again at the Masonic Hall in downtown Steubenville.

The parts we are looking for:

     no-nonsense school teacher
❤Clara – an empty headed flirt
❤Artopoios The Baker – mild
     mannered  pastry master
❤The Mad Scientist – well, he’s
      mad

     saint

HOMESCHOOL PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE:
This class covers various styles of percussion from various cultures. Class is ongoing, you can join at anytime. Class starts September 1.
Ages 10-13: Thursdays 12 – 12:45 PM
Ages 14-18: Thursdays 1 – 1:45 PM
$50 / Month

We are looking for friendly, professional, and motivated staff!

The Center of Music and Art is pleased to welcome Norm Keyser to our staff as our new guitar repair technician. Norm was born and raised here in the Ohio Valley and began playing guitar in 1987. With over three decades of experience, Norm is well versed in performance and guitar repair/modification. When you bring your guitar to CMA for repairs or upgrades, you can have the peace of mind that your instrument is in the right hands. Services offered include restringing, setup, truss rod / neck adjustment, fretwork, cleaning, electronics/pickups for electric guitars, and more. You can drop off your guitar anytime, and we offer free estimates.

Band Instrument Repair Shop

The Center of Music and Art is the area’s premiere band instrument repair shop. From replacing pads and corks to removing dents and restoring entire horns, we can do it all. Simply drop off your horn at the store during regular business hours, or call us at 740-264-3111 with any questions. Estimates are free and available on request. PRIVATE LESSONS

Private and Semi-Private lessons are always available in both music and art

Art Lessons are available in many areas including drawing, painting (oil, arcylic and watercolor), computer graphics (Photoshop and Illustrator, no animation), calligraphy, and more. Just ask.

Music Lessons are available including: acoustic guitar, electric guitar, electric bass, drums, band instruments, violin, piano, keyboard, voice, ear training and drama.

Private Lessons= $20.00 per half hour

Semi- Private (2 students)= $15 per student per half hour
